After a lay-over night in Puerto Natales, we headed on the bus to El Calafate... for... another lay-over night. Getting around Southern Patagonia involves a lot of busing and patience... fortunately after a few months of travel, we have new found skills at both.
In Calafate we found a shop which walked us through the mate (pronounced ma-tay) drinking tradition. Mate is essentially super strong tea that locals drink from gourd looking things all day long. Interestingly, it's hard to get mate in restaurants because most people have their own kit they just lug around all day so seeing it in a shop was unique and fun.

No really Mom/Dad, this isn't a drug. |
We grabbed our plane flight and headed to Bariloche. With about 2.5 weeks in this city we were a little nervous about the city and our accommodations. Man, were we happy when our AirBnB place was great and only 50 meters from this awesome pebble beach. We went to bed happy and excited to explore Bariloche.
