Bariloche Orientations

We spent our first day in Bariloche catching up on sleep, going out grocery shopping, and getting information about our adventure options.  Bariloche is trying to emulate European mountain towns (really, it seems Argentina is trying to emulate Europe in general).  What do you have in Alpine mountain towns?  Chocolate.  What is Bariloche very well known for?  Chocolate.  We sampled Mamuschka on our first day and continue to debate our weekly chocolate budget.

After months of travel, we decided the next day we'd do some stuff individually.  Are you thinking there must be some big fight behind this break?  Not really, we've just found that we like a little break every few... continents.  Anyway, Shannon had some good coffee shop time while I hiked up Cerro Campanario a little mountain close to town with great views.

In the afternoon we reunited and enjoyed the beach by our house on a hot and unusually windless day.

Our third day in Bariloche we prepped for a Hut trip to the Tronador area heading into town for rental sleeping bags, getting hiking food, and wrapping up the day with some quick and easy kayaking by the house!
